In June 2008 The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) formally launched its Islamabad Chapter at an event held in Islamabad. The Indus Entrepreneurs is a global not-for-profit organization that currently operates through 49 Chapters across 11 Countries. TiE helps entrepreneurs by way of advice, guidance and assistance from successful and experienced entrepreneurs and professionals. It focuses on promoting a system conducive to the spirit and growth of entrepreneurship.
Mr. Yousuf Raza Gillani, the honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, was the chief guest at the grand ceremony which was graced by a large number of dignitaries from leading successful Entrepreneurs, CEO’s of leading business concerns, Budding Entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, Bankers, Policy Makers from the Government Sector, representatives of Chambers of Commerce, Editors of leading Media Houses and well known Journalists.
The President TiE Islamabad Chapter Ms. Sarah Hashwani was one of the spokespersons, who shared the goals, visions and aspirations of this new chapter with the audience. Amongst other speakers were Dr. Atta ur Rehman, Chairman, Higher Education Commission and Mr. Imtiaz Rastgar, Chairman & CEO of Rastgar Group of Companies, who highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and the necessary ecosystem required to promote it and help it flourish.
Khushhali bank in its dedicated efforts for the advancement of entrepreneurship was one of the main sponsors of the event and by way of its support to the Indus Entrepreneurs seeks to boost the knowledge, morale and confidence of people and encourage them to take on entrepreneurial ventures.
The event marked a new era in the development of Pakistan and was concluded with the performance of various humorous skits by a leading theatre group depicting the experiences and real life problems a young entrepreneur may face before enjoying the perks of being self-employed, independent and self sustainable. |
