 The 3rd International Microfinance Country Forum, 2009, was inaugurated by the Honorable Governor of State Bank of Pakistan Syed Salim Raza in Islamabad on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) was one of the main sponsors of the conference which has been organized by Shamrock Communications for the third consecutive year. The forum witnessed huge attendance by prominent delegates from both public & private sector with participation from KBL and other prestigious Pakistani & Foreign organizations. The conference addressed many topics related to microfinance with special emphasis on “Mass Accessibility and User-friendly Resources” in Pakistan. |

 Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) in association with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) extended the outreach of its scholarship program by awarding 42 more scholarships to the students of University of Peshawar, City University, Peshawar and Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar, in a ceremony held in Islamabad on June 29, 2009. This has increased the total number of scholarships awarded to students to attend prestigious universities across the country under the KBL – USAID Scholarship program to 332. |

 Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) awarded 22 more scholarships to the students of City University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, in a ceremony held in Islamabad on June 18, 2009. These scholarships awarded to the students of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) raised the total number of scholarships extended to the City University to 67.

 Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) in association with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded 27 new scholarships to the students from FATA studying at the University of Peshawar on December 29, 2008 at a ceremony hosted by the University.
Khushhali Bank in association with USAID initiated the scholarship program in 2005, allowing universities across the country to provide opportunities to eligible students from marginalized areas in Sindh, Balochistan and FATA to acquire higher education.

 5th Citi-PPAF Micro Entrepreneurship Awards, 2008, were held on December 01, 2008. These awards are given every year by Citibank and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund to recognize the achievements and contributions of individual micro entrepreneurs towards economic sustainability of their families as well as communities. Citi-PPAF Awards also aim at illustrating and promoting the effective role that microfinance has played in poverty alleviation around the world and thereby encourages and supports the growth of microfinance industry in Pakistan. Citibank runs this programme in 28 countries across the globe to create awareness about the microfinance industry and to support its growth through due recognition of outstanding micro entrepreneurs.
