Khushhalibank took a positive step towards the support and uplift of the industrious yet underprivileged strata of Pakistani population through the launch of Sehat Khushhali, a Khushhalibank initiative in collaboration with the Asia Care Health & Life Insurance Company.

Malala Yousafzai, the world's youngest nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize from Pakistan, was honored with LADIESFUND® Khushhalibank Idol Award at the 5th Ladiesfund Awards 2013 ceremony held at Mohatta Palace. Chief Guests included First Women Bank Ltd. President Shaqfat Sultana and Poetress of Pakistan Zehra Nigah, who was also the Lifetime Achievement Award Winner.

Khushhalibank Limited, the first licensed microfinance bank in Pakistan expanded its network by opening six new branches in the Punjab region during the month of February 2013. These branches were opened in Minchanabad, Chiniot, Muzaffargarh, Fort Abbas, Alipur and Sadiqabad.

Businesses succeed best if they utilize technology to improve themselves and move forward. Maintaining this stance, Khushalibank signed a 3-year Microsoft Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft Pakistan and InfoTech (Pvt.) Ltd, Microsoft’s Direct Large Account Reseller in Pakistan.

With an aim to support livelihoods through competency based vocational training of international standards and help create a new batch of skilled Pakistanis with internationally recognized technical qualifications, Khushhalibank sponsored ten students of The Hunar Foundation technical institute to provide them the opportunity to skill themselves in various technical specialities like Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electrical installation, Mechanical fitting and Plant Maintenance, Fabrication, welding and Pipe work, and Plumbing, followed by a 6 month internship in the local industry. These programs will be then followed by career guidance and assistance in work placement.

The Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), an international non-profit making organization working in various countries all over the world, and implementing USAID’s Entrepreneurs project through key partners in Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and KPK, recently signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Pakistan’s foremost and leading microfinance bank, Khushhalibank, with an aim to promote their common vision of promoting economic development and access to finance.

Syed Ali Raza, an MBA student, won the ‘Corporate Gold Medal’ in the 9th Convocation of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST) Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh was the Chief Guest at the event.

The 1st Annual Entrepreneurship Conference of Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) which has been set up by a team of fresh graduates from FAST National University was held at the National Library in Islamabad on October 22, 2012. With the theme of Learn, Create and Lead, the conference aimed to get a full understanding of economic development achieved by constructing a Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index (GEDI) that captured the essence of the contextual features of entrepreneurship and filled a gap in the measure of development. Khushhalibank was one of the official sponsors of the Conference.

SBI has received a $1.19million funding extension from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support this partnership initiative with Khushhalibank.

JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Limited (JCR-VIS) has reaffirmed the medium to long term entity rating of Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) at ‘A’ (Single A) and short term rating at ‘A-1’ (A-One). Ratings remain under ‘Rating Watch-Developing’ status on account of pending legal formalities regarding completion of acquisition by the UBL (United Bank Limited) led consortium. Upon conclusion of the acquisition process and subsequent reconstitution of the new board, ratings will be revisited.

The ratings reflect Khushhalibank's ability to withstand tough operating environment and maintain its market standing.
