Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL) awarded 22 more scholarships to the students of City University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar. These scholarships awarded to the students of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) raised the total number of scholarships extended to the City University to 67. The ceremony was held at Islamabad National Institute of Banking & Finance (NIBAF) and was a testament of Khushhali Bank’s commitment to create opportunities for the underprivileged students residing in the marginalized areas of the country. Present at the occasion were Syed Zahid Raza, Head Human Resources, Khushhali Bank Limited, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Israr Khattak, Vice Chancellor, City University of Science & Information Technology along with other prominent names in the education arena.

Syed Zahid Raza, Head Human Resources, Khushhali Bank awarded the scholarships to the deserving students as a part of KBL’s efforts to extend the outreach of its scholarship program aimed towards providing the underprivileged students of society with quality education. These are merit based scholarships that include tuition and examination fee, along with course related material/books, boarding & lodging expenses. Moreover, students receiving the scholarships may also be offered special internship opportunities during the course of study.

Reiterating Khushhali Bank’s objective to provide impetus to growth by supporting economic uplift, Syed Zahid Raza Head Human Resources, Khushhali Bank stressed upon the need to facilitate the youth with professional education and said “As a society we suffer, when a large majority of our youth is deprived of access to quality education – which is their due right.  Through the Khushhali Bank Scholarship initiative, we hope to create better livelihood opportunities for students representing the lesser privileged segments of our society by giving them the opportunity to pursue higher education in professional disciplines and contribute to the Human Resource pool of our Country.”

Khushhali Bank’s Scholarship Program was launched in the year 2005. With these additional 22 scholarships KBL has so far extended a sum total of 290 scholarships to capable and deserving candidates in prestigious universities of the country like IBA ( Karachi and Sukkur), LUMS (Lahore), SZABIST (Karachi), IMS Hayatabad (Peshawar) and BUITEMS (Quetta).

Commenting on the occasion, Prof.Dr. Muhammad Israr Khattack, Vice Chancellor, City University of Science and Information Technology lauded Khushhali Bank for undertaking such a commendable initiative aimed towards providing quality education to deserving students representing the remote areas of Sindh, Balochistan & FATA. He said “This is a great initiative, whereby deserving students are awarded for their hard work and dedication and helps breed within them a ray hope. It is a privilege to be a part of this initiative as the end benefit of such programs is not just limited to the students who receive the education but percolate to their families and the society in general as well.”
