April 19, 2010, Khushhalibank held its Annual Sales Conference at PC Bhurban to review the performance for the year 2009. The conference was chaired by Ghalib Nishtar, President, Khushhalibank and attended by all Departmental Heads and the Retail Unit from the Corporate Office, and Regional Business Managers and Territory Portfolio Managers from their respective Regions.                  February 16, 2010, Khushhali Bank in collaboration with American Business Council has given the first 20 cheques to the affected traders of Bolton Market under 'Bolton Market - Business Revitalization Program' of USAID in a ceremony held in Karachi. Khushhali Bank is managing the process of grant disbursement of USAID's funds of PKR 1 billion for the program.                  Islamabad, 21st November 2009, Khushhali Bank participated in the 3rd International Microfinance Forum 2009 which was inaugurated by the Governor, State Bank of Pakistan, Syed Salim Raza. Khushhali Bank was one of the main sponsors of the conference which witnessed huge attendance by delegates from both the public & private sector.                  August 11, 2009, Khushhali Bank celebrates its ninth anniversary to acknowledge the contribution and hard work of its employees, while resolving to make its clients a priority and rejoicing the unprecedented success of past nine years.                  Khushhali Bank Limited re-constitutes its Board of Directors for a term of three years. Syed Ali Raza, President, National Bank of Pakistan, being the chairman, the new Board of Directors consists of seven members, four representing the share holders three non share holding Independent Directors.

   Advisor to US Executive Director Asian Development Bank visits Khushhali Bank

Christopher Grewe Advisor to US Executive Director in Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited Khushhali Bank in order to review the bank’s progress since inception in August 2000 and took up this opportunity to interact with the Bank’s employees and its clients and gain first hand knowledge regarding the Bank’s  operations and future plans

During his visit Christopher Grewe also attended a small Award Distribution Ceremony held at the Bank’s Corporate Office, whereby eight micro entrepreneurs from across Pakistan were awarded certificates and cash prizes as an acknowledgement of their achievements. Christopher Grewe was pleased to see the works of these entrepreneurs and the advancements that they have made through the productive use of the loans sanctioned to them by Khushhali Bank Limited (KBL). Whilst expressing his views on the exceptional achievements of these entrepreneurs Advisor to US Executive Director Asian Development Bank, Christopher Grewe said “It is a matter of privilege to present these commendable  micro entrepreneurs with these awards, as today their businesses are a testament of their hard work, dedication and passion to excel”. He further added “these constructive activities reflect khushhalibank’s strong commitment towards the empowerment of entrepreneurship for Improving livelihood’s amongst low Income households’

At the occasion President Khushhali Bank, Ghalib Nishtar whilst sharing his views said “Khushhali Bank, through these awards aims to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship, which once nurtured will lead to empowerment and community  building. These awards serve to encourage these  entrepreneurs and motivate them to contribute towards their household Income as well economic growth at the grass root level’

Eradicating poverty takes time and multifaceted Interventions but providing these micro entrepreneurs with the necessary means to build a better and sustainable future through access to capital is a positive  step in this direction. Khushhali Bank continuously works towards expanding the scope of its services to low Income segments particularly across less developed and marginalized areas and providing opportunity to earn their own livelihood through microfinance.
