USAID’s Anti-Fraud Hotline (www.anti-fraudhotline.com) has been fully operational since January 2011. This multi-media, multi-lingual project allows individuals to report allegations of fraud, waste and abuse in USAID-funded programs throughout Pakistan. The project has already received more than 3700 complaints, out of which some 1000 complaints have been registered for additional follow up. USAID’s OIG is solely responsible for investigating these complaints and will take appropriate necessary measures to address each one of them.
The Anti-Fraud Hotline Project has a great potential to prevent the cases of fraud, waste and abuse in the USAID funded projects and hold any wrong-doers accountable through USG and GOP’s rules and procedures. For this purpose OIG is also working closely with the concerned institutions of Pakistan like National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Auditor General of Pakistan and Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).
