Bushra Bibi runs her own vermicelli-making business from home. She still sells homemade vermicellis in the market but since she acquired loan from Khushhali Bank Limited things are quite different for her now. Initially, without financial support, she was facing multiple problems both at the business front and at home.
With each passing day it was not only getting difficult for her to afford basic raw materials like oil, sugar, flour, etc but it also became nearly impossible for her to pay
back a local money lender the loan she had taken on a very high interest rate. Every month she was parting with a handsome amount in the name of interest. While her principal amount remained unpaid all along, she was caught in a web of interests and a quicksand of debt, spending a lion’s share of her already meagre income in repayments.
Alongside, she was also facing various problems in her personal life. Her relatives did not like to meet her and her children due to her poor financial condition. A similar attitude was being meted out to her by her neighbours. Then Khushhali Bank Limited knocked at her door, literally.
Our door-to-door orientation campaign in the area reached Bushra as a harbinger of good financial tidings. Bushra not only needed finance to salvage her dwindling business, she also needed to pay the moneylender off and overcome other problems in her life.
With micro-credit from Khushhali Bank Limited she was able to do all that, and much more. By properly utilising her loan and with the right business skills, she now runs both her vermicelli business and her household successfully. Microfinance by Khushhali Bank Limited helped her pay off all the loan she had taken from the local money lender. She also improved her financial position back home. And with her good habit of saving, she improved her status and lifestyle and earned the respect of her relatives, neighbours and most of all, her husband.
She is happy with Khushhali Bank Limited, more so with its simple procedure of lending finances without the ubiquitous hassles that come with loan approvals. While her successfully running business speaks volumes about her prosperity (khushhali), she now speaks for her friendly bank which for her is indeed a friend in need. She is introducing Khushhali Bank Limited to her community members, talking about its good services, policies and procedures.
Bushra now not only helps her husband meet much of the household expenses but is also satisfied and confident in terms of running her business independently. She is content and hopeful of providing a good future to her children.
