    As the founder President of Khushhali Microfinance Bank since 2000, was part of the process Initiated by the Government of Pakistan to reform the financial sector under the Microfinance Sector Development Program with the objective of providing sustainable financial services access to the low Income segments of the market.

    Under his leadership Khushhali Microfinance Bank has emerged as Pakistan’s premier microfinance Institution with a nationwide presence across all parts of the country including Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

    Prior to Khushhali Bank he has over 20 years of management experience commencing with Bank of America in ’82 and concluding with the National Bank of Pakistan, country’s largest commercial bank as its Senior Executive Vice President.

  • Saleem Akhtar Bhatti

    Chief Financial Officer

    With over 20 years of industry experience in telecom and microfinance sector. He has served on various management positions responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in the finance & accounting function through financial strategy, planning, financial and management accounting, budgeting, tax planning, defining financial policies and controls. During his career; he also has a diverse experience of working closely with the Board of Directors and shareholders where his key responsibilities included; planning, administer and review corporate compliance activities; effective practice concerning board/shareholders meetings, ensuring business affairs and transactions are managed and implemented as directed by the board. He is an associate member of the APA and CA – finalist from the ICAP.

    Amina Hassan

    Head Retail Banking

    With an MBA in Management and a Masters in Applied Psychology she has over 15 years' service-sector experience with particular focus on managing grassroots initiatives for socio-economically vulnerable groups such as illiterate adults, child workers and people with disabilities. In KMBL she is recognized for her contribution towards establishing effective retail distribution & client service platform across branch, area, region & national level. Joining KMBL at inception with the first batch of executive trainees, Ms. Hassan has progressed with the bank over the past 12 years to become the first woman on the senior management team. She has recently received specialized training in micro-enterprise management from the Kennedy School at Harvard University, USA, several management & retail related trainings domestically besides exposure visits to International best practices such as BRI, Indonesia and M-Paisa, Kenya.

  • Lubna Azam Tiwana

    Chief Risk Officer

    Ms. Lubna Azam Tiwana has completed her M.Sc in Investment Management from CASS Business School, City University, London, UK with a distinction.. She is also a Britannia Chevening Scholarship holder of the British Council with the Premier Award for being the most outstanding candidate from all over Paksitan.

    Ms.Tiwana has also done her Masters in Public Administration from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad with a Gold Medal for holding first position. She also holds certification in Islamic Banking along with the third position. Throughout her academic career she has been a holder of merit scholarships and certificates. Ms Tiwana is a senior banker with nineteen years of diversified experience with core competency in the field of credit, risk management and training.

    Prior to joining Khushhali Microfinance Bank as Chief Risk Officer, Ms.Tiwana was the Country Head Risk Management Division with Askari Bank Ltd. The prime responsibilities included identification, measurement, monitoring, controlling and reporting of market, liquidity, operational, credit and other types of risks. The functional responsibilities also included business continuity planning and management, information security , Basel Compliance, ICAAP assessment and reporting, IRAF analysis, regulatory reporting of all types of risks, Stress testing, RORAC/RAROC modelling, implementation of advanced approaches of Basel II, Capital Adequacy Ratio assessment and reporting etc. Review of policies and procedures of the entire bank was also one of the key responsibilities.

    She also worked as Chief Credit Officer for many years managing credit risk for Corporate, Commercial, SME, Investment Banking, Islamic Banking, Consumer banking and Agriculture finance etc. Ms Tiwana has been the member of all the main functional committees within the bank. She is also an active member of PBA Sub-Committees on Basel, Compliance, Governance and Credit. She has attended various domestic and international trainings on Basel, Credit and Risk Management.

    Hammad Haider

    Head Operations

    Hammad Haider has a varied experience of about 19 years in country’s International and local Commercial Banks, where he progressed and achieved a learning curve ranging to different areas of Banking. He is a diversified professional with core competencies in the field of Operations, Business Technology Products, Operational Risk and Branch Banking Operations. His banking Career started from Emirates Bank International and prior to joining KMBL, he was Head-Alternate Delivery Channels in Allied Bank. Having a Masters in Public Administration, Commerce & Business background, by working on such dynamic assignments and roles, developed a skill set for technology based products, that enhanced IT practicality fervor, which enabled him to work for organizations in enhancing their technology driven products in line with their business needs. Hammad is exceedingly motivated and pragmatic person with extensive experience in leading on the analysis, development, and strategic improvement of processes. His areas of expertise other than commercial banking areas are BPR and System Migrations.

  • Ali Imran Bokhari

    Chief Internal Auditor

    Syed Ali Imran Bokhari is a management executive with diversified experience, of over 10 years, in development and implementation of Compliance and Risk Management Frameworks, development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Financial & Management Consulting Services, Institutional Assessments and Appraisals, Supervision and Administration of Audit & Assurance Services, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Governance, and Restructuring & Business Valuation, including feasibility analysis & share valuation. He is a Certified Financial Consultant from Canada and Chartered Accountancy Finalist from Pakistan. He is an associate member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Institute of Financial Consultants, USA.

    Rizwan Hafeez

    Head Compliance & Business Support

    Rizwan is a diversified professional with core competencies in the field of IT, Compliance, Operational Risk and Audit. Prior to joining KMBL, he was Head, Compliance – Retail Clients at Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Limited. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in Consumer and SME Banking with a particular focus on regulatory compliance and policy framework. His compliance journey spans over 10 years with diversified portfolios including business compliance, regulatory compliance and financial crimes compliance (AML/CDD). He has over 14 years work experience which includes over 12 years banking experience. His areas of practice include Business Process Re-engineering, Information Systems Strategic Planning, MIS, Financial Control, Compliance and AML. He has previously been associated with Union Bank Limited, MCB Bank Limited and Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates (Pvt.) Ltd. He holds an MBA (MIS) degree from IBA Karachi. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

  • Atif Aziz Ahmed

    Chief Information Officer

    Atif Aziz Ahmed brings 22+ years of diverse, local as well as International technology experience with him.

    Prior to Khushhali Microfinance Bank, Atif headed the technology division at Tameer Micro Finance Bank for four and a half years where his areas of influence included technology strategy, operations and project deployments. He has also worked at well-renowned stock brokerage firms in Pakistan including KASB Securities and AKD Securities, where he lead the Information Technology teams. He started his career in 1993 from IBM Pakistan, where he worked as a systems engineer for two years before leaving for Canada and then US to work at AT&T Research Labs, New Jersey. He came back to Pakistan in January 2000 and worked as a senior project manager at an off-shore software project development company for four years.

    Atif considers the importance of software programming as well as technology in general in our lives and therefore is an ardent proponent of including computer programming in the curriculum from a very early stage in schools. Atif also likes to teach and has taught at different institutions in Pakistan. These institutions include FAST - NU, ICAP and Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (KITE). He is very fond of giving career advice to the youth of Pakistan and has conducted several career-counselling sessions for BBA and MBA students at KITE as well.

    Atif holds Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science degrees from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences FAST-NU, Karachi.

    Umer Sami Hayat

    Company Secretary & General Counsel

    Mr. Umer Sami has diverse experience; both in contentious and non-contention legal matters. He has done his Masters in Law (LLM) from a reputable university in Pakistan. His career (PQE) spans over a period of 12 years with most of his years spent in the Banking sector. He has added value to legal functions of many commercial banks in Pakistan including ABL, MCB, SCB and BOP. His last assignment, before joining KMBL, was with the Bank of Punjab where he served as Head of Litigation. Umer started his career as a practicing lawyer and during his practice years, he was also actively involved in High Court Bar politics. He has a good understanding of the legal system in Pakistan and has dealt with all types of legal cases right from inception up to their final disposal by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
